I have just been reading the thread about the monthly munches in York.

I think this a brilliant idea, dont know what anyone else thinks. Why dont similar meetings happen throughout the country. A monthly meeting perhaps in the evening. 7:30 time. A chance to meet new people, faces to names etc. Perhaps regional would be the best way.

becky I think you will find you have one in Nottingham once a month. Have a word with Keith CP2 I think he has gone to it more than once.Its held in a pub somewhere in Nottingham its self.

The munch in Nottingham is more BDSM than spanking. I haven't been to it, but have seen the advertising site (can't remember how to get to it).

U'll find that there are several munches held thoughout the country, not always every month, but there seems to be one somewhere practically every month.

I realise that some are impossible for some to get to because of the location,
but there has to be something somewhere for most of us. I know, for example roddyuk has problems getting to meets and munches beacuse of where he lives.

Having a munch in say the midlands every month wouldn't work unless you are prepared to invite memebrs from other sites as there are just so many times u'd want to meet up with the same people. OK frrm time to time a new face will join the group, but I don't think u'll get that much interest to hold one every month.

I think okie has summed it up very well. If you regiment it and say that it will be in the same place, same time every month then it will not work. People tend to say "Oh I won't go this month and go next month instead" and next month they find another excuse. And so on and so forth.

It's the same with any group and any interest. Any club organiser will tell you that whatever their interest.

And after all, Oyks has a lot of experience in organising events.

Like i said it was just an idea. I have been to the monthly BDSM meet in Nottingham, twice now and it is great. But alot of the B/S munches are at lunch time which is great, but not all of us can make it, due to work getting in the way and so forth. So a evenig meet would be a idea wouldnt it not?

After all what do most of us do in the evening? Sit in front of the PC, when we could meet and chat.

Yer! can't fault your thinking becky, will be a lot of work for you as oyk's said, but if your up for it go on then girl!! We will come to as many as our busy schedule will allow.

I've got to disagree with AlexR over the fixed montly munch idea. My main experience is with comedy clubs, which often start small with very few attendees. The ones that succeed are the ones that are there every week/month at the same venue at the same time. Might be different with spanking munches, but whereas we has three at our first munch in London, we now have twelve, with people coming from all over the country to attend. And all I'm doing is posting to BS and the Yahoo/MSN spanking groups. If I held on at the weeknds, or in the evening, it would be very well attended indeed.


I've alsways been a believer in "if you build they will come". Just be prepared to hang in there for a few months. Have fun!

yes Dia, when merry and i first started we had 4 people..........but we have persevered and last much we had 23, of course you will not get that all the time, but the idea is people get to know you are going to be there.......we are trying one on a weekday evening this time really just to see what sort of reaction/ attendance we get..........LMN

Great idea becky. me and foxxx have done 3 munches in milton keynes. and they have all been well attended. We tend to do them on a 'as and when' basis, which seems to work.

A lot of people turn up even if they haven't posted on the thread to say they will. It can be a lot of work to organise, but it is also a lot of fun.
