View Full Version : Why do Scottish people type phonetically

Why can't Scottish people talk properly, like the rest of us??

It's difficult to understand them talk in general, when they are pointing and waving at the bar, etc.

But this Scottish typing thing, I can't understand the buggers!

It can't be just me, is it? Look at old Branbonnet - Burns was only being friendly but because Branbonnet doesn't type Scottish, he probably took it the wrong way!

I'm just shocked at the level of misunderstanding we as a united modern democratic country have - I can't understand those sheep-shaggers either!

not all scots type in dialect form

and scots is really not that difficult to read - it mostly has the same roots as middle english

might be better if you quit whining and insulting people and started trying to read - that or stay off the threads you don't understand (the shut up idea works well for that idea too!)

Does it really matter?? It is just part of who they are. And if we are going to start criticising the scottish contingent for posting phonetically, then are we also going to start criticising people who don't know how to use the apostrophe correctly??

The general view is that, as long as a post is readable, then spelling and punctuation are of secondary importance.

hmmm time for a minor derailment methinks

in theory i like the idea of smoothies - but a major component of smoothies seem to be bananas :vomit: Food of the devil i'm sure you'll agree. If it's not the disgusting smell it's the odd, sometimes slimy, texture.

Now i want to know - can you make a decent fruit smoothie without using bananas?
