I find that being restrained for cp can be mind blowing. It might not be very "schoolboyish" and demands absolute trust in the Top but the feeling of helplessness is overwhelming and quite unique... or to put it another way - it scares the shit outta me!

I haven't and don't like the idea of it because it doesn't fit with the type of discipline I have (school/domestic etc). I think if I get into that then I am crossing into territory that doesn't appeal to me.
As i never use safewords I would rather just relax into a scene and take it as it comes so that it has that reality and authenticity.
I am giving up my freedom and trust and control over to the disciplinarian already, so I don't feel I need to be restrained, what 'schoolgirl' ever was in a real school, as Niki said?

Briggy's reply is of course right - you don't allow yourself to be restrained unless/until you've built up a relationship of trust with the guy concerned. In a 'scene' with someone you don't know well enough to have total trust, allow that and you're off your rocker :shake

btw......'restraint' comes in many guises.......some use restraints especially designed to be easy to get out of in an emergency :p

It depends too what you mean by "restraint".

I dont like the idea of being tied up ,or down, in a way that would prevent escape or easy release should i want or need it.

Id certainly not contemplate even the mildest of tying restraint unless I was totally sure of the person i was playing with.

However even a firm hand on waist or the small of the back, "holding you down" over a knee,( or bed or whatever), can add to the "game " of being "held" in position so you cant get up till allowed........and yes that can add a frisson to the proceedings.

I also rather like this because it gives an added link between the spanker and spankee which can be comforting and reassuring even while having your bottom smacked.

I have once had a spanker put a small tie (almost akin to a ribbon) around my wrists, to tie them together. The knot was loose and the actual restraint was non-existant - but this was the intention. The tie was a symbol, and as such it felt very powerful to me.

Personally I am not into restraint - I have been restrained but it does nothing for me and I can't see the point. I like being spanked so why would I run away?

I'm going to have to sit on a fence with this one.....it depends on my mood, and on the scene.Surely that should be tied to the fence (or over it!) if you are into restraint? :p

I will ALWAYS test the restraints and try and get out of it - generally being a brat, but it's also a matter of "knowing" completely and utterly that I'm at the mercy of the individual and the situation.
I am not at all submissive so please forgive me if I appear a bit slow on the uptake. I fully understand your point that as a submissive, you see being restrained as reinforcing your submission. However I can't help finding that rather at odds with your comment above. By testing the restraint, does that not imply some lack of confidence in your dom or at least in his ability to tie you up competently? Or perhaps you have managed to escape some time in the past. oh me too. i have to feel really restrained, helpless and completely unable to stop whatever it is that's going to happen. That's why for me, a casual meeting with an unknown spanker wouldn't really work, i have to know and trust someone. To know they won't really injure me or give me more than i can take, but to know that it'll hurt, will stretch my limits and leave me marked and stinging :p

As a lifelong spanker have in last two years discovered joys of switch with a truly wonderful professional who, after OTK warm-up strapped me over the block by which time I knew her well enough to trust her though would not have wanted hands shackled just in case. Also whilst legs and thigh straps are fine I did not like the upper body as I like to be able to change position as, inclined to muscle cramp, I like to move top around and turn to look at her and mirror etc. As others have said, that sense of helplessness for a professional business man and manager is a very powerful bonus. It doesnt increase the enjoyment of the session for me, but neither does it diminish it. I don't get much choice with clients it's what they want, some like you to wriggle, some want total stillness, some restrain you a little, some restrain you a lot up to total bondage or cuffs and suspension!
