The Office Cane - surely a myth ?

My travels in cyberspace often turn up references to "The Office Cane". I can't believe use of this was ever a widespread phenomenon - can anyone prove me wrong?

My first job was in a warehouse - I didn't feel mature enough for office work to start with. A horny boss wielding a cane might have changed my mind, however...

I think this perhaps refers just to the cane being kept in the school office, I might be wrong.

Junior or Office Cane:
5/16 inch thick, 30 inches long....
These were the most widely used in schools. They are of medium length & thickness, for a wide range of sensations.

It would make working so much more exciting if you knew there was a cane in an office, waiting to be used if you misbehaved.

I bought one of these many years ago from Miss. Martindale of the Wildfire Club it was a nice medium weight KooBoo and it gave me many years good service. I gave it away last year to a Small Blond Minx who subsequently managed to break it just by the crook handle. She now uses it as a slightly shorter straight cane and it recently made a film appearance as “the broken office cane” fortunately there was one of Chopper’s Senior KooBoo’s on hand to correct the situation.

I had always thought this to be a nice fantasy among spankos, not meant as a serious piece of history. But would be interesting to find out I am wrong, so looking forward to reading more replies.

Magazines of the late 60's were the first in which I saw many tales of ladies, and men, having their bottoms warmed for transgressions during working hours. It wasn't only confined to offices, either. Tales were plentiful of shop assistants, nurses, and even female teachers, being on the receiving end.

The Victorians (who were great pornographers) never wrote about women in offices and why? Because by and large there were NO women in offices up until 1914 or so.

Tales were written true enough..but then one can see why. The influx of young women into what up till then had been strictly a male domain was bound to cause all sorts of fantasies. (But fantasy I am afraid it was).

Likewise I think this is more fantasy than fact but i do remember reading an account in Forum magazine about 20 years ago when a chap wrote that he had been caned in his first job a few weeks after leaving school.

If I remember correctly, he got a job in an insurance company in an office in York. He had made some error that was quite costly - he was almost certain to lose his job. The ofice manager offered him the alternative of a caning which he chose. He was caned on 3 successive evenings after the office was closed. He had to bend over the manager's desk and received 6 srokes over his trousers on the first visit. He had to take his trousers down on the following visit and was caned on the bare bottom on the last visit.

Probably a fantasy but it had the ring of truth about it as he mentioned that he was never caned again.

Consider the historical fact that in Britain in the 50s folk left school at 15 and were not recognised as adults until 21.

CP was common in schools, so what could be more natural than to keep up CP for youngsters in the office - even those aged 18 to 21 - and indeed other workplace ?

Imagine a typing pool full of cheeky young 20 Y O lasses all chatting away (and perhaps making mistakes) under the eye of the Supervisor - a spinster, embittered, going well into middle age and full of a sense of duty to control the rabble of young staff ... Why not the office cane ?

Imagine the Supervisor coming back from the Manager's office after a painful discussion about the quality of her "girls' " work and seeking to pass on the blame.

Fantasy maybe but quite pleasant of its kind, perhaps and based on fact.

I am not so sure just how much of a myth this is......my second H.O.D. had a Cane on the Coat Rack in his office. I assumed since it was an Educational Establishment that this was a joke....but on three occaisions I did see a Lecturer and his secretary leave that office looking flushed.
Later I myself spanked the secretary in her own home for spilling wine on me......she had faint cane marks on her bottom and told me that the H.O.D. caned her often.....for mistakes but also for their mutual pleasure.....I regularly spanked and caned her....though I was still nominally a sub, until I left that place......so I don't think it was ever a general thing but it isnt all myth (which is nice).

I was growing up at a time when CP was simply an everyday part of life, and I have no doubt that things did go on, with older people behind closed doors .

One of my friends got caught breaking into a shop with some friends he was in the sixth form probably 18 or 19 and too old to be caned and of course he had done nothing in school.

The shop keeper gave them all a choice of either allowing their headmaster to deal with it or pressing charges with the police.


The head in turn gave them a second choice between expulsion or taking six of the best, so they were left with the options, all of them chose the caning of there own free will.

Does that count as consensual or not, somewhere in the grey area.

I can't honestly say that I know of office caning, but office spanking certainly. Over the years I have had two young ladies across my knees in my office one of whom progressed to a fairly sound slippering. The first was certainly into being spanked as she teased me something rotten!

I also know of two other women who said that were chastised at work one quite hard with a belt, I have no reason to disbelieve them, and in one office I worked in spanking was regulalry and very openly discussed by the women but generally in the context of what they received at home.

Admittedly that was sometime ago and I wonder whether anything like that is now even vaguely possible in anything other than our fantasies.

Going off on a tangent, I'm araid, but it is good to hear of Miss Martindale again. An early player in our game (a characterisation which she always denied, ironically) her combination of old-fashioned cp and an early use of the net was most admirable, as were the many publications and 'audio tapes' which bore her name.
